A stunning, authentic piece of late Victorian to Edwardian era fashion history. This two-piece interlocking belt buckle was traditionally worn by nurses at the turn of the century as a functional and decorative clasp for their wide uniform waistbands.
Exquisite Craftsmanship
This buckle features striking hand-tooled, pierced openwork (filigree) with intricate scrollwork and hand-engraved floral designs. While it is made from a high-quality base metal/silver plate rather than solid sterling silver, the masterful hand-carved artistry shines through beautifully. Stamped makers/hallmark details are visible on the front face.

Condition & Mechanics
The buckle is in excellent antique condition with a wonderful, authentic patina that highlights the depth of the engraving. Both matching halves are structurally sound, and the rear hook-and-bar mechanism connects securely. The side belt-loop bars are firmly soldered and ready to slide onto a ribbon, sash, or reproduction belt.
